'TAIK': Trump - Erdogan deal to quadruple the volume of bilateral trade

The Turkish-US Business Council (TAIK) by its chairman Mehmet Ali Yalcindag stated that on a phone call in July 15 between US president Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan it was agreed that the volume of the bilateral trade will increase from $25 billion per year to $100 billion.

"As Turkey's oldest business council, we believe stronger integration of the Turkish and US
economies will strengthen this longstanding alliance that is critical to world stability and will
foster prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic. Sectors such as LNG, textiles, agriculture,
white goods and many more are ripe for growth and are crucial to helping us achieve the
ambitious target laid out by the Presidents and reiterated in yesterday's call", Yalcindag said.

Recently, Turkey increased the volume of  US imported LNG, while significantly lowered its imports from Russia.
